From Chapada Diamantina and lots of beautiful hikes, we went on to Itacare, a Surfer’s Paradise with amazing beaches! We came there and saw that is has a lot more to offer than just these amazing beaches, and so we decided to experience every side of this magical place.
So here are our tips to explore Itacare:
- The Beachside
Here we stayed at Pousada Solarium, which is located near the 2 main beaches and you can easily walk to 4 more that are surfer’s beaches. The athmosphere here is really great and chilled.
We did short hikes to at least two beaches every day and enjoyed the evenings playing pool billiard or walking around in the surroundings of our Pousada with Fabio, a really cool guy we met in Morro! Thank you for the nice time Fabio 🙂
- The Town – The village beach
We stayed in Vila Barracuda for two nights to experience the town of Itacare and we also really liked this side. The village offers lots of nice bars, fitness studios and many different places to have dinner at. From oriental Hummus plates over fresh seafood to Tapiocas and traditional Brazilian Food you can find everything here. The town is next to the nice pier and we really enjoyed relaxing there.
From This part of Itacare you can also explore the river by SUP or Kayak an we had some amazing surf lessons on Itacarezinho beach.
As special recommendations we would like to mention two restaurants:
The Villa Barracuda Restaurant, which offers amazing fresh catches of the day and healthy homemade food
Orla 55 – The best pizzeria in Itacare town!
- The best for us: The Jungle
We heard that Itacare also has great jungle areas and so we decided to find a place to stay somewhere close to the jungle. And destiny leaded us to PARADISE <3 – Art Jungle Eco Lodge!
This place had an amazing spirit and we loved to spend our evenings at the terrace there.
We met really cool people:
Daniel the owner, who helped us a lot with exploring the surroundings and who we spent amazing evenings with.
Andi and Annerose (still a freaky name ;)), a couple from Germany who took us to amazing beaches. We really enjoyed the time with you, even if you would have left Bina alone with a big spider in her face haha.
The Jungle area was one of the best things we experienced on our whole journey so far and we could really recommend everybody to visit this place at least once in a lifetime. You can find silence, nature and everything your heart wishes for there. Also from here we could do some amazing Amazonas experience SUP tours, because we had a private access to the river.
All in all we had an amazing time in Itacare, met great people, saw lots of beautiful hidden secrets and found our paradise in the Jungle. We will definitely come back some time, but we have to move on, Iguacu falls are waiting 😀
